Anyone between the ages of 18 and 50 can avail of this scheme. The person concerned should have a bank account. The policyholder has to deposit Rs 330 annually. This amount will be deducted directly from the respective person's bank account every year. There is a provision of up to Rs 2 lakh under the Prime Minister Jeevan Jyot Insurance Scheme.
Its cover period is from June 1 to May 31. This means that if the PMJJBY policy is purchased on any date, its coverage for the first year will be till May 31 next year. It is taken 45 days after enrollment in the risk cover scheme.




The scheme is run by LIC as well as other private life insurance companies. One can go to his bank and get information, many banks have typed up with insurance companies.
You can download the form and submit it to a Retail Bank or Insurance Company through http://www.jansuraksha.gov.in. Even if an account holder has a savings account in more than one bank, it can only be taken advantage of by insurance once.
The nominee will have to claim the bank where the person concerned was insured. The death certificate will have to be deposited. Another required document will be provided along with the discharge receipt. The form for this scheme is available in different Indian languages. They include English, Hindi, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada, Odia, Marathi, Telugu and Tamil.
No medical examination is required to buy insurance. You will start to receive this feature from the day your premium is deducted from your bank account.




What is a Term Plan?
In the event of the death of the policyholder in the term plan, the insurance company pays the insurance amount. If the policyholder remains healthy even after the time has expired, he will not get any benefit.
